THE KEY OF DARKNESS
--- Chapter One ---
Tears of the Monster
The sun was rising over the
skyline as a scary monster approached a home. Elenor woke up and smiled. Her
maid Nancy came in and spoke cheerfully. “Madam, today is your wedding day. You
are a very lucky woman in England.” Elenor looked into her eyes and got out of
bed. “I think this day will be amazing.” But destiny had other plans. Darkness,
pain, and screams were everywhere.
At the Marquee of
Solisticashire, Samuel of Solisticashire talked to himself. “I hope she never
learns about my dark side. It will not be good for her. But she will hurt. I
wish she did not want to marry me. Little shy girl, making a deal with a
demon.” The demon was Samuel, and he was a bad guy. He was narcissistic and cruel.
He was feeling nervous now, thinking, “Am I a ghost or a monster?” Samuel was
like a panther, graceful and dangerous. He looked like he could kill with
kindness, but he was a cruel kind of man.
Elenor got dressed, put on
makeup, and had her hair done for hours. Corsets, dresses, and hair were
everywhere, but in the end, Elenor was the most beautiful bride in the land.
Elenor sat in the cabin on her way to the church. When they arrived, she looked
around. The colored windows, the statue of Christ on the cross, everything was
decorated in a gothic style. She trembled as she prayed to the kings, the
images of Jesus, and the face of the Virgin Mary. She prayed slowly, but her
prayers were too far away to save her. No one could save her when she said yes
to Samuel Solisticashire. She said yes, the marriage bond was tied, and the
news went to Evans Castle that she was married to a monster.
The Castle of Evans was the
darkest castle in the country. The people who lived in the village on the
castle's side said, “Strange and scary noises come from Evans Castle. Stay far
away from this castle! Run and run!” Elenor did not listen and believed in her
husband.
The Castle of Evans hid a big
and dark secret, and one night when she could not sleep, she found the key to the
dark secret. An old key still sat in her hand. She was scared and did not tell
her husband. That night was the coldest, darkest, and scariest night of her
life. She cried for hours, and when she stopped, she could not sleep anymore.
If she slept deeply, she would have a nightmare. She would be in a dark place
with screams and scary crying sounds all around her. She would run away from a
monster thirsty for blood, and blood would come from his teeth. His terrible
breath would go on her face, and she would breathe it in. In some of her
nightmares, there was only darkness, and nothing was more scary than something.
Darkness is the reason why people are afraid of the dark. Darkness hides
killers, psychopaths, and monsters. The scariest gods in myths, Nyx and Erebus,
are the goddess of night and god of darkness. Hypnos, the son of Erebus and
Nyx, fought with Zeus and ran away to his mother's side, the castle of night.
When Zeus screamed, “Nyx!”, Nyx, the night, was always dangerous. Elenor saw
the night, darkness, and murder, but she never spoke about it.
However, fate did not accept
this. It was not in the plan, and she would see more and more blood in her
life.
